Based on the design of Ludwig’s well-known Acrolite line, the Acro snare has four distinct and distinctive shell materials: bronze, brass, copper, and aluminum. It also has a moderately tempered beaded shell with brush finishing. The bronze shell of this Ludwig Acro snare drum combines the remarkable ring of a brass snare with the deeper tonal range of copper. Ten sturdy and identical-looking Twin lugs are included with the Acro snare, along with an elaborate, quick-acting, completely cast P86AC snare throw off and P35P butt plate.
