This limited release takes deep inspiration from the iconic 1957 P-Bass, fusing vintage aesthetics with player-friendly modern performance updates. Finished in classic Relic Aged colors, this bass is destined to become the irreplaceable go-to in any professional’s collection.
The Limited Edition “P” Jazz Bass Relic is a testament to the master luthiers at the Fender Custom Shop. It features a lightweight, resonant 2-piece select ash body finished in a stunning Flashcoat lacquer in Aged Cimmaron Red, Aged White Blonde, or Chocolate Three-Color Sunburst. This Relic treatment gives the bass the look and feel of a genuine vintage classic right out of the box.
The unique fusion of designs is centered on the neck: while it boasts the look of a mid-to-late ’50s P-Bass with a quartersawn maple neck and flat-laminated fingerboard, it sports a ’60s-style “U” Jazz Bass back-shape and a slim 1.5″ nut width. This combination provides the best of both worldsthe solid feel of a Custom Shop neck with the effortless playability of a J-Bass profile.
Powering the bass is a Custom Shop Hand-Wound 57 Precision Bass pickup, delivering beautifully warm, classic P-Bass punch and depth. Other premium appointments include a gold anodized aluminum pickguard and vintage-style hardware throughout.
