The idea behind the Bob Reeves C2J Trumpet Mouthpieces was to create a mouthpiece optimized for softer passages found in orchestral work and jazz ballads. The C2J creates a dark, warm, and rich sound without sacrificing intonation, range, and endurance. Classical trumpet players like to use the C2J on their C trumpets when playing Mahler Symphonies 3 and 9 or Brahms. The mouthpiece is also great for backing a church choir.
