Polyphias Tim Henson has wowed audiences with his idiosyncratic style of technical shredding since the bands earliest independently released EPs dropped in the early 2010s. Fittingly, the Ibanez TOD10 Tim Henson Signature is a high-performance solidbody electric guitar with custom tweaks and appointments tailor-made for fleet-fingered fretboard gymnastics. The TOD10 is built around an American basswood body, which exhibits a warm, growling acoustic tone with hyper-defined mids. A set of Tims signature multi-voice Fishman Fluence humbuckers yield a plethora of tones from squeaky cleans to high-octane grind. The TOD10s roasted maple neck boasts Ibanezs comfortable AZ Oval C shape, and its 24-fret, 12-inch-radius ebony fingerboard was designed to accommodate the most demanding of hand maneuvers. You also get a Gotoh T1502 tremolo for bending, twisting, and diving with spot-on intonation. The TOD10 Tim Henson Signature is rounded out with a Graph Tech nut, Gotoh locking tuners, illuminated side markers, and an eye-grabbing Tree of Death fingerboard inlay.
Specifications
The TOD10 Tim Henson Signature electric guitar from Ibanez was designed in collaboration with one half of the dynamic guitar duo of Polyphia. Polyphia is a primarily instrumental progressive rock band based in Plano, Texas, that weaves technical and virtuosic guitar instrumentations together with hip-hop, jazz and R&B-influenced production and grooves to create a truly unique and original sound. This Tim Henson guitar is highly inspired by the Ibanez AZ model, and it also features some of Henson’s personal touches to make it perfectly designed for his versatile playing style.
The TOD10’s most striking aesthetic feature may be the fingerboard inlay design, which Henson has dubbed as the “Tree of Death.” The name and the design are both nods to the iconic Ibanez “Tree of Life” inlay design, but with a twist. An American basswood body is paired with a roasted maple neck and ebony fretboard for tight lows and mids, along with a strong attack.
Hensons signature Fishman Fluence pickups span the entire range of aggressive lead and rhythm tones to the cleanest of clean single-coil combinations, even touching on sounds Henson was previously only able to produce with his acoustic guitars. Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads achieve incredible tuning stability, cutting down string-changing time, while a T1502 bridge with steel saddles and a die-cast zinc tremolo block allow for a quick response and improved articulation. The 10.5 mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings and its snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm.
A protective gig bag is included.
