Urban Ash Construction Produces Clear, Balanced Tone

The guitar’s solid urban ash top, back and sides are sourced from Southern California trees in need of removal, yielding a tone that rings with clarity and balance. The ash’s density helps each string’s fundamental note sing out, while damping excess overtones for a clean voice. A four-piece back and sides are stained to highlight the wood’s straight, quartered grain.

V-Class Bracing Optimizes Projection and Intonation

Taylor’s patented V-Class bracing marks an evolution beyond traditional X-bracing. It functions as a “sonic engine” boosting volume, sustain and resolving intonation issues. The bracing creates notes that sound purer, clearer and more consistent throughout the fingerboard. The guitar is easier to tune, with notes that have more projection, sustain and less “sourness.”

Taylor’s ES2 pickup system captures the guitar’s acoustic properties with exceptional detail. Its three uniquely positioned sensors are calibrated to capture a wide range of dynamics. The guitar features a dramatic Florentine cutaway for upper-fret access. It has an ebony fingerboard and bridge, along with mother-of-pearl and bloodwood “Capstone” fingerboard inlays. The nut and saddle are made of Tusq, a synthetic bone alternative, with phosphor bronze light-gauge strings. The tuners are chrome and the rosette has dark-stained bone bridge pins with red Australian opal inlays. An included deluxe hardshell case protects your investment.
