Tanglewood recognises that to introduce musicians to Tanglewood, an instrument must have a high build quality, good playability, attractive cosmetics and as many features as possible to encourage and reward aspiring musicians.

Using this design brief, Tanglewood luthiers created the Discovery series, a range of guitarswhich feature Tanglewood EX-4 preamps, delicate 2mm fingerboard dots, chromemachine heads, understated sound hole rosettes, and a range of modern finish options. All Mahogany bodies are used, which, produces both warmth and punch, softeningthe bass tones while accentuating the all-importantmidrange.
